Gift recipient of bottle
Air gets in around the top of the straw and you suck in as much air bubbles as water. There needs to be some kind of gasket to seal area between straw tip n body.
Water bottles
Just purchased 2 of these last week at Hobby Lobby. Very disappointed in their performance. Mostly air draws up through the straws. I ended up taking the straw off in order to drink out of it. I have wasted my money purchasing these.
Waste of money
Bought 3 and only 1 of the 3 actually can drink right through the straw. Terrible design.
It sucks
The straw problem is real. You can push it back in there but it'll come back out during the day. In addition to that the latch wants to stick and not open the top.
Disappointed
I thought it was me at first, until I read the reviews here. I am experiencing the same issue with air and not really having a good flow of water through the straw! Highly disappointed and now I see why it was 40% off.

Works fine
The straw is 3 pieces, and as long as it is fully assembled and intact, it works like a straw in a regular cup. My sister and I both purchased one and they work great.
the straw problem is operator error. i love this cup!
i had the same issue with the straw until i realized that we are not assembling the straw CORRECTLY!
you have to push the white tip down onto the plastic straw until it clicks, then the straw seals properly & works just fine!! no more air.
