Incredibly hard to put together
These say easy and 8+ so I figured it would a fun project for my 9 year old scouts. No. Not at all, do not but these for scouts. They were hard even my capable father hated them. I do not recommend.
Horrible experience
I bought these for cub scouts in the 3rd grade (AGE 8).. The directions were terrible.. There are no pre-drilled holes or markings. You need more than a hammer and glue as described. If you are buying these for cub scouts, please don't.. trust me on this.
Harder than you might think
The biggest complaint I have with these kits, which were purchased for 9 yr old Cub Scouts, there were no pre-drilled holes, and the nails were too bendy (yes that is a technical term!) All scouts had bent nails, making it hard to finish!
Birdhouse kit
Worst item I’ve ever bought! Nails are way to small, easy to loose parts and hard to put together. Not user friendly at ALL!!!
fun to build and paint
Yes, tricky to assemble, definitely not for children. Requires a steady hand and careful following of the directions. Refer to the photos a lot. Use wood glue to adhere pieces quickly, then nails after glue has set. Paint! It's adorable! Gonna get more!!!
Bad nails
This turned out cute after straightening the nails several times. Wish we would have tried this at home not out camping as I would have had good nails. Granddaughters enjoyed painting it after the long time it took to put it together.
Fun Project
I built two of these as well as the feeder from the same brand. No predrilled holes, but the wood, which is engineered/ply, is nicely finished and true, so assembly was square on all 3 kits. Took stain well and feels solid once finished. Would buy again.
Birdhouse kit
I got this kit for a fun and easy birdhouse to make but it was very hard. The nails would split the wood in half and we were missing a peice and the nails in the second one. I would not suggest spending your money on this.
Easy Birdhouse
Very simple to build. I would recommend predrilling holes just enough to start nails. I also put glue on the nails. If you have problem holding nails use a straw by pushing the nail through it then hold straw with nail in it and start nailing away.
