Description

Explore your assembly and engineering skills with the Da Vinci Clock. Based on an escapement sketched by Leonardo da Vinci, the clock uses the pendulum's weight as its power source. Power is harnessed from a horizontal rotary pendulum design and clock speed is controlled by adjusting the weight and balance of the pendulum. Time is ticking!

Recommended for ages 14 and older. Kit does not require batteries, painting, or cement.

Awesome project!

My daughter is 10 years old and loved this! Great gift for any child interested in mechanics, Legos, or machinery projects.

Not labeled clearly and doesn't work

Was excited to put together, I was disappointed that it was all plastic but proceeded to assemble as I got further into it I realized it wasn't a clock, then after I finished it worked for a couple of minutes now I put the max amount of coins but nothing

Worth it!

I enjoyed putting this together! A great addition to my DaVinci room.

Easy To Build w/NO GLUE

This thing snapped together without any glue. Makes it easier with the kids. Academy makes a good product. I plan on getting more from this series.

Fun but ultimately doesn't work.

Had a great evening assembling this with my daughter. However Even with the weight full of quarters and attaching a 9 volt battery the weight still wouldn't descend. Thus the "clock" wouldn't run.

Not recommended. Doesn't work, not a clock.

Does not work well

Assembling this was easy and fun. Worked on it with my 11 year old neice and she enjoyed putting it together. However, the gears get stuck after a few seconds and we cannot get the basket to go all the way down.

Clock works fine

Clock works fine.but only runs for 15 mins. Than it needs to be rewound ..i only have to quarters on it and adjusted the speed setting on top..i made my string longer and made the clock work for an hour before i had to reset it..love it….he was a genius

Awesome

After some trial and error (make sure you wind it in the correct direction lol), works great and looks awesome!

Takes some patience and lubrication

First assembled in “4minute” mode, and took too much force to run. Reassembled in “1hour” mode, and lubricated each shaft, gear, and spindle with cooking spray. Using 8 quarters, it runs 95% reliable. Not really a time piece, more for visual display

Easy to assemble… doesn't work very well.

The clock doesn't run as designed with a basket full of quarters. I 3d printed a larger basket and that helped some. Not a complete solution. It will require constant tinkering to run. I give it 2 stars for appearance only. It is not functional.
