Very loud and weak
You might want earplugs if you're going to use this. You must be extremely patient as well. Can barely apply pressure or it stops.
They should stop selling this.
I am disappointed. My daughter was excited to learn how to use a pottery wheel so we got this for her. It has almost no torque. Even the light touch of a hand or tool bogs it down to a complete stop, which makes it useless. Don't waste your money.
Love this wheel
The first time my 4-year-old and I used this wheel, we used the air dry clay that came with it and it was pretty hard and difficult to use but the second time we used it we got different clay and made some great pots.
Kids Pottery Wheel
I am a former Art Teacher. I got this wheel to teach my children how to throw. Imagine my disappointment that you cannot apply any pressure AT ALL in order to throw a basic pot. You cant even get it started without the wheel grinding and stopping.
Disappointing and Very Sad
My Daughter was so upset because she wants to learn how to do pottery. I wasted 25.00 bucks on this crappy pottery kit.
Absolute junk
I'm not sure how much Anna was paid for her(?) shill job, but the other reviews are far more truthful. My kids were thrilled to make pots on the wheel, only to be greeted to the sound of grinding gear slippage. I'll be returning this trash tomorrow.
Bad clay
The clay included was too stiff and unworkable. We bought other clay and got it to work. If the wheel won't go, you might need more powerful batteries. We were frustrated until an experienced friend helped us get good technique. It rotates clockwise.
Didn't work
Didn't work at all. We opted for a diy pottery wheel out of a spinning mop bucket and plant holders. Works great…. took a minute to get it perfected as far as level and what not but it was worth it.
Much better than expected!
This had such poor reviews that I was nervous about buying it but my son has loved it! It works just like a real pottery wheel but slower, which is good for little hands! He has made several pots. It also has a place for a plug in if you get one for it.
Total junk
Take this off your shelves, Hobby Lobby. It's absolute junk. The motor can't handle even a tiny amount of resistance when you apply pressure to form the clay.
