Mid to high grade solder
I have used canfield, mastercraft, Amerway, some economy brands and Studio Pro. Studio pro falls just under Canfield and a much better price. Studio pro melts easily and it is easy to make professional beads.
Great Product
This solder works very well for my leaded glass repair project. I am a beginner, but find that it melts at a low temp., which allows it to flow freely where I need it to.
Mastercraft Solder
I was surprised to see the one star rating from another user. I've been doing stained glass since the late 1970's and I have had NO issues with the Mastercraft solder. It's definitely worth a try.
Don't buy
Was told by professional stained glass artists not to buy this solder. It is not as pure and doesn't work as well as other solders.
Great Solder
I sell a lot of stained glass windows. I use this 60/40 on front and 50/50 on back. Melts well. Produces nice round solder lines. Highly recommend.
Horrible product
I'm a professional artist, and I used this solder for 2 months not realizing it was this that was utterly destroying my solder tips. It really is an inferior solder. Not my methods, not other products, but this, ate away an entire tip in one month.
Solder good but not good
I've used this solder for some glass projects and I agree with the gentleman that had a problem with his tip disappearing but didn't think it was the solder I thought maybe the flux the product flows well and is a good price but tips are also costly
Made out of country
I think you’ll find that this solder is made from recycled materials and had a ton of impurities. Applying patina to this solder is challenging becuse of the impurities, it doesn’t take the color no matter how well you steel wool it.
A good solder, especially for hobbyists
A good solder that flows well. I haven't had any issues with it taking a black patina.
Good Solder to use
Been using this for 4 yrs now…..no problems! Other people want a person to buy $$$$$ supplies for some reason. I like the less expensive items and will continue to use them
