Quick and Hot
This iron has worked well forever one year. Heats up quickly and allows for fast soldering.
Would give no stars if I could
This iron did not work well from the get go. Full of cold spots and a very frustrating experience to try to use. A tinning block did not help resolve the issue as suggested in the enclosed pamphlet. I returned to HL for a refund and purchased a Weller
Soldering iron
Stopped working after a few weeks. Do not waste your money- no warranty or anything on it.
You get what you pay for
Most ppl buying this iron do stained glass, so the fact that I managed to create several pieces with the iron is nice, i was able to do all the things i wanted and needed to do with it until one day (about 6 mo. after purchase) it simply stopped working
Doesn't stay hot, long cool periods
Don't waste your money, even with a 40% off it's not worth the frustration it causes if you've doing stained glass and you need consistency to create good lines. This one worked great the first time, then had so many prolonged cold periods its worthless.
Returned to store
I purchased this iron when my other one died. It would not maintain heat and would not melt solder
Save your money for a GOOD soldering iron
We found that this soldering iron did not hold the heat & wouldn't melt the solder. Very frustrating .. We are now going to spend the $50+ to get a Hakko or Weller. Very disappointed with this one. Glad I had a 40% off coupon. Still a waste of money.
Get a better Iron!
Plan and simple. Get a better quality iron and don't waste your 20 dollars on this one. So much time spent preparing my stain glass beauty, just to loose it to a terrible soldering job from a crappy iron that won't hold temp! Frustrating for sure.
Save yourself the heartache
I sat down to touch up my fifth project and start on my sixth and realized after ten minutes that my iron was cold enough to touch. Now I have to wait until next week for my hakko that I couldn’t afford and therefore wasn’t ready to buy, to get here.
why bother selling junk like this?
10 days this thing lasted. I figured I'd get at least 6 months! If you are going to sell low quality stained glass and accessories why not do your community a huge favor & scrap the entire dept.?! Thanks for wasting my time Hobby Lobby.
