Staining wood like a professional
My husband is a professional painter with over 30 years experience. Minwax makes great stains and is one of his go-to stains. What many people do not understand about stains is--NOT ALL WOODS STAIN THE SAME COLOR or DARKNESS. Sample on same wood first
Not black at all
Name suggests dark black color. Stain is barley a dark brown. Swatch at builder show room was dark black. Very disappointed once builder used it on our stair railing. When we complained they said they used the right stain that we picked out. Dont buy this
Perfect match
For all you people that say dark or black what are you looking at? The finish is EARLY AMERICAN. This color matched a set of oak cabinets that are over 30 years old.
Great Stuff
I wish the folks leaving one star reviews understood how wood stains work and how colors show up based on the color of the raw wood being stained. Stain is not paint and acts a lot like hair dye, the starting color has everything to do with the final one
I LOVE Minwax!
I've used Minwax for over 20 years in crafting & home renovation projects, they've all turned out beautifully. Stain a small piece of the same wood you will be staining in the actual project so you can see the end results. This is a 5 star product.
Best Stain on the market for Pro's only
First Minwax is used buy all the pro's the ones that leave bad reviews are the ones who know nothing about staining wood. The longer you leave it on the darker it will stain second walnut vs say oak will never stain the same color or even pine
