Great paper
this is a great water color paper the watercolors will not leek through.
garbage
It's not worth the money even with a coupon. It seems as if HL is trying to push their brand no matter that it is NOT artist quality, to the point they never have good quality paper in stock such as the Arches.
Awful
Sure. Watercolors don’t leak through. That’s why you’re not painting on construction paper. BUT it won’t let you do most of the watercolor techniques. It makes a difference and if you don’t know better and can break confidence. Splurge and get Arches.
Premium Watercolor pad
I love it- and I love their cake watercolors- bright and inspiring. The cake is brighter than Winsor Newton tubes- I love Archers paper as well-just the same this paper works fine. Regarding Master Touch offerings.
Not for pros
This is paper you would use for practice. Not much else.
Premium is good
If you are going to buy this brand, buy the premium. It performs better than Canson XL.
Marginally better; suitable for some projects
"Premium" = better surface texture and 3 more sheets/pad vs MT standard. Similar limitations. Also appears to have too much sizing on surface. If you want a wood pulp paper that performs decently with better sizing and durability, just get Strathmore 400.
Don’t waste your money
Horrible Paper. Water just sits on top, paints turn splotchy, paper warps very easily, pigment comes off when layering. Not even good for practice.
Terrible for watercolor
Works terribly for watercolor. Surface is chalky and it buckles. So it’s worthless for watercolor. However, it’s ok for using with acrylic painting and maybe even gouache. Maybe because those mediums can be very forgiving.
Great Student Grade Paper!
Look, this is not 100% cotton but it's very nice paper. I use it for my class instead of 100% at times because it's very nice to work with. The MT regular Watercolor paper is good as well. It's more closer to Canson XL. Very good paper.
