Awful. Still.
Just as bad as the other masters touch papers. Warps and buckles pretty much as soon as you put water on it. There are much better options out there for a similar price. Just don’t do what I did and buy it in the store without reading reviews first.
Absolutely Awful
Basically no better than poster board but more $$. Don’t waste the time or the money on it.
Good for gelli plate mono prints
I'm not using it for watercolor. I'm using it with a Gelli plate for mono prints with acrylic paint. It's great for that. Strong, thick, smooth paper that dries flat with no curling or warping.
Caves under water
Not worth the extra price. Paper buckles under water, ripples up, and is not true to size. I had to CUT my paper to fit any and all 11x14 frames. Would not recommend this brand at all.
Don’t buy
Not good paper for watercolor. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing and trying this paper.
Perfect for pencil, pen and charcoal drawings.
I've seen a lot of negative reviews about this product, About how it warps and such. But for me, I really love using it for my graphite drawings, my pens and charcoal if I'm in the mood. Because of the smooth toothy texture.
A rare find
Hot pressed watercolor paper is hard to find on the market, so I was glad to see HL carry it. The smoothness of this paper is what I like, compared to cold press paper. The smooth texture gives me a nice finish & is great for creating detailed art.
Warps and lots of defects
This paper, as others have said, warps like crazy when it gets wet. Good luck getting it flat afterwards. Even with a heat press and cooling under significant weight for a day, you get a rippled potato chip. There are also frequent defects. Bad!
Excellent for Pen & Ink & Watercolor Washes
This smooth 30% cotton -140 lb hot press watercolor paper is a great choice for pen & watercolor art. It also holds great color, too. Perfect for the style mentioned above. I rushed back & bought another to stock up. Highly recommend.
Not for watercolor
This paper not for watercolor. I used some masking liquid and when I rubbed it off, the surface of the paper came with it. I tried to do wet on wet and it just sat on the surface. No spreading at all. And the paper won't allow corrections. Bad!
