Dust Storm
I was terribly disappointed in these pastels. I have never used pastels that created so much dust. Even though I was very careful, the excess dust left color in places I didn't want it when I tried to "pour" the dust of the paper. Waste of $ for me.
Way too much kickback
These are way too dusty. I feel like I am using chalk from a classroom. It’s a cheap buy, but a waster of money nonetheless.
Waste of money!
I bought several color sets of these around Christmas time and only recently got around to experimenting with them. Don’t buy-they’re extremely brittle, lack bold pigment when on paper and lack smooth chalky feel when drawing/shading.
NOT oil pastels - good CHALK pastels
Oil pastels are different. These are CHALK pastels. You can do so much! Use with water, grate, powder, chop, mix into clay to color or draw then swirl water, more. Great for mixed media. Use water based sealer to save/protect. Even color hair and wash out
Perfect for making weathering powders for models
yes, these are very chalk like, not oily.. but that is exactly what I needed to grind these up (old coffee grinder) into weathering powders for distressing models. Got some great rust, coal, grime and general dirt out of these earthtones… and cheap
Dust storm
As an artist I use these all the time. They are chalk sometime I have to mist my chalk very lightly this will help with the dust liter. Try it luv you won't be disappointment. They all have their own makeup.
Great Chalk Pastel!
I bought one of these and they're amazing. when I was experimenting I observed that they are best for background s. Highly recommend for background work
Good for beginner
I have some name brand pastels and in comparison these ones don't blend as easily or smoothly. They are good for an intro to pastels though and perfect for kids.
Great for sketching
These earthtone pastels are hard and chalky. I wouldn't use them alone to produce a finished piece, but they are good for sketches. I find that a kneaded eraser picks up stray dust easily. A good buy on sale.
Thank
I love their softness for drawing & shading. Yet they’re strength is perfect to keep them from breaking.
All the colors are perfectly bright or just beautifully earthy tones. Great for portrait & figure drawing.
I don’t need to use my costly sets.
