19 Piece watercolor set
This product is wonderful for starting in watercolor! This small set comes with everything you need to begin painting! Couple of cons the paints are vibrant but a little low quality, they are a bit translucent. Otherwise a great product for on the go!
Great for toddlers, not for artists…
The paints are pretty blah & can be a bit chalky when dry. Watercolors should be transparent - these mostly are. The box, sharpener, pencil & the eraser are nice except the sticker doesn't come off of the box. The palette is flimsy but buy other brushes.
Great entry point for watercolor!
Perfect for beginners…I've made tons of cards and bookmarks already. I love the portability of this set, but have purchased higher quality brushes. Bought on sale for $8.50 and will purchase more for gifts!
Not even student grade
The tubes were coated to look like paint tubes, but they're really just plastic tubes. The paint inside mine was separated so my ochre just spit out what looked like gum arabic. After shaking an ochre goo came out but didn't mix well with the colors.
Meh.
The paints separate rather quickly, which is fixed by stirring it up with a toothpick before use. Also the colors are not as vibrant and smooth as I had hoped. They're usable, but not ideal. I've had better luck with 20-ish year-old watercolors.
