Ok if you don't care what you get
The bags are so inconsistant. One bag had all strips and another had pieces too thick. Nothing what I needed. Buying individual pieces is too expensive.
basswood
crap shot trying to find pieces one can carve. want 3 by 3 or 4 by 4 by 8 to 24 inches. flat pieces 1/2 by 3 by 7 or 8 inches, not a chance. Not much of a source for basswood to carve.
Great for Model RR scratch building
You can make all kinds of stuff for your model railroad. I have made sheds, fences, walls, foundations, etc.

If you're buying at the store, take a moment to look at the contents of the available packages. Each pack contains a random assortment and they are all a little different. I use these for scale model buildings and I love them.
