Ya Gotta Love Sculpey
I have used this for tons of projects: making jewelry, ornaments, dollhouse furniture and miniatures, dolls etc. It is easy to use, can be sanded and painted after being cooked and it seems to last forever as long as you keep your finished projects dry.
Pleco caves
Plecos are a type of aquarium sucker fish and they love caves. I make tubular caves out of this stuff and it is saturated fully in aquarium water and stays completely hard after fired. Works great. I do not paint them so I can't say if paint will last.
Modeling
Holds up pretty well under direct flame without any protective layers. A Star Trek Combadge magnet I made three years ago still looks like the day it was made with only two coats of paint on it.
